It’s common in grief to experience a loss of purpose and feelings of despair. Following loss, we may feel trapped in a dark place, not feel really alive, inner paralysis, spiritual barrenness, loss of sense of self and fear that what we're experiencing will never change. Any of these experiences can lead to thoughts of suicide.
What is needed in the journey through despair?
What gifts lie in these darker realms?
How does our relationship with pain and despair relate to a denial of death, grief and darkness in our culture and society?
This is a day to explore concepts and fears related to despair and suicide within a supportive structure and the role of the dark emotions in generating new life. Discover ways to access support within yourself to inspire and sustain you through challenging periods.
This retreat is suitable for anyone who has or is struggling with despair or suicide or who cares about someone who is.
This retreat includes:
- grounding practices to quiet the mind and soothe the nervous system
- reflective processes and dialogue to access inner wisdom
- body-centred movement for integration
- ceremony to mark significant changes in our inner and outer landscapes, and as a vessel for mourning and release
- space to connect with and be supported by nature
- a nourishing lunch and snacks
- social silence (speaking only when necessary) outside of the program sessions
At the end of the day, this retreat date can include an evening thermal spa experience at Le Nordik Spa-Nature, 2 minutes walk from our retreat lodge. Deepen your self-care experience through Heat Therapy.
Ceremonies, reflective practices, expressive arts, movement and meals will vary at each retreat. For a more comprehensive retreat experience, consider registering for more than one retreat.
