The faces of grief are many: death, relationship loss, loss of home or homeland, health and job losses, severence from ancestral stories and rituals, sorrow for the degradation of the earth and more. Grief and loss touch us all and there is extensive evidence for the need to attend to grief for our own well-being and that of the broader community.

Pause, connect, learn about the natural, necessary process of grief and mourning. Give yourself this space to receive tools to attend to the large and small losses that touch each of our lives and a supportive process to honour the needs of grief. Experience the new vitality that happens when the pain of loss is welcomed rather than avoided or resisted.  Many people have described feeling lighter and sleeping better as a result of this work.  Explore grief's capactiy for renewal and a way into deeper connection with all life.

Situated in a magical landscape encompassing 70 acres of new and old growth forests, this calming environment provides breathtaking silence, Zen inspired gardens, semi-private lake access and private walking trails. This setting provides an ideal setting to retreat, receive essential information about grief and a supportive structure to attend to current and past losses.

The retreat includes:

  • grounding practices to quiet the mind and soothe the nervous system

  • reflective processes and dialogue to access inner wisdom

  • body-centred movement for integration

  • ceremony to mark significant changes in our inner and outer landscapes, and as a vessel for mourning and release

  • space to connect with and be supported by nature

  • a nourishing lunch and snacks

  • social silence (speaking only when necessary) outside of the program sessions

At the end of the day, this retreat includes an opportunity to care for your body and deepen relaxation through an onsite sauna and/or to spend more time being supported by and connected to nature in this stunning environment.

Ceremonies, reflective practices, expressive arts, and movement will vary at each retreat.  For a more comprehensive retreat experience, consider registering for more than one retreat.
