About the Event

Structured on the Work that Reconnects, this online workshop offers a brave space and tools for emerging and established writers who desire:

· an increased capacity to notice and give expression to what is true in your life

· a deeper relationship with the greater body of earth and place

· to experience your writing life as part of your ecological self, writing with and from the natural world

· practice in transforming anxiety, grief and anger into courage and creativity

· connection with a supportive and creative community

· to contribute to the great turning towards a life sustaining society

This four-week online writing workshop includes grounding practices, generative and reflective writing exercises, teachings, nature-based and group activities and discussions on creative process.

When: four consecutive Fridays, March 4, March 11, March 18, & March 25,

from 10 am – noon EST

with a half-hour assignment between each meeting time.

Over the past five decades, Joanna Macy has created a body of teachings and group work that helps participants transform despair and apathy, in the face of social and ecological crises, into constructive, collaborative action. This work, called the “Work That Reconnects,” brings a fresh way of seeing the world as our larger living body, connection with ancient wisdom, and helps to clarify what we can do to support life on earth.

Facilitator:

Robin Macdonald is a spiritually-rooted facilitator, moving at the intersections of social justice, earth care, spirituality and mental health.  Part of the Scottish-Irish diaspora living on Turtle Island, Robin is a restorative justice practitioner, communal grief and Work that Reconnects facilitator, Yasodhara Yoga teacher and writer. Core to her work is the role of community in healing and thriving.  Her writing has appeared in Prairie Fire, the Literary Review of Canada, North Rootsmagazine, Ottawawater, Rideau Review Press and been longlisted for the CBC Creative Non-Fiction prize.

Sliding Scale Pricing:  $120 - $60

What is sliding scale pricing and how does it work?

Sliding scale pricing provides a service or product with multiple price points. These price points are set to make the service or product accessible to people with different levels of income, so that financial resources need not be a barrier to a person’s ability to access a product or service. Community members can chose the price point that best reflects their ability pay for a product or service, based on their individual circumstances.

My wish is to make this workshop accessible to all who wish to participate and to support a modest livelihood out of love for planet earth and the body of work upon which this workshop is based.

Sliding scale practices grows strong and sustainable communities.

If the lowest income price point is beyond your reach and you would like to participate in this retreat, an in-kind trade or scholarship is also available.
